Classroom Rules and Expectations

Students are expected to follow all classroom rules on a daily basis. At Scandinavian Middle School, we have an educational philosophy that all students have the right to learn and all teachers have the right to teach. In addition to our classroom rules, students are expected to adhere to the school-wide behavior expectations. Please refer to your student’s school agenda to learn more about our Assertive Discipline Program.

Room 6 Classroom Rules:

                      1.       Be in in your seat when the bell rings.

                      2.       Follow directions the first time they are given.

                      3.       Stay on task during all work times.

                      4.       Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

                       5.       Use respectful language.

Materials and Supplies

A Scandinavian agenda planner is provided free to all students. Students record their daily classwork, activities, and homework assignments in their agenda, so it is a necessary part of their daily supplies. In addition to their planner, students also need to bring a pencil and backpack or book bag.

Homework

Homework is an important part of developing self-responsibility and reinforcing academic concepts in students. Homework is given weekly, at the discretion of the teacher. When homework is assigned, it is expected to be turned in the following day. Homework will be accepted late without penalty only if an absence has been cleared through the attendance office.

Grading

Students are expected to complete all assignments neatly, timely and to the best of their ability. All assignments will be graded on the following scale:

90% - 100%

=  A

80% - 89%

=  B

70% - 79%
